Flaxseed Oil Vs Fish Oil
Many people have reasons for not wanting to use fish oil. If you are vegetarian or vegan or you have safety concerns, you need an alternative.
The obvious choice seems to be flax seed oil but is it the best choice?
The reason to take these supplements is to boost our intake of essential fatty acids, especially DHA. It is widely believed that the best source for this is oily fish.
It is present in other foods, including flax seeds, but in a form that is less bio-available, (usable).
If fish oil is out to the question for you there is another alternative. It is algae.
Fish, like us, do not naturally produce omega 3. It is introduced into the food chain by smaller fish eating algae. I believe that a better option than flaxseed oil is to eat the algae yourself. It is widely available as you can see below.
